Customized Barnwood Cottage Decor Letters
Welcome Friends! Spring is just around the corner and with it comes a good farmhouse cleaning and making room for all those new decorating ideas that have been bouncing around in my head; like these BIG Barnwood Letters that Brian and I now have available in the shop. These are available 20″ tall (or smaller if you wish) and we can customize them to any letter you wish.
And of course, I just love the French Country/Shabby Chic look so I end up painting and distressing anything I can get my hands on, so of course we have that style available too if you wish (like below) other fonts available too. Just send us an email or convo (if you have an Etsy account) and let us know what you’re looking for!

Look forward to chatting with you later in the week, talk with you soon!

Learn the Art of Fine Woodworking
Fine Woodworking – Hand Tools I
Hand Tools I is a basic course on the use and maintenance of the basic tools of fine wood workers. You will learn to identify, sharpen and use a variety of chisels, planes, scrapers, and handsaws. You will discover that all of these tools can be obtained rather inexpensively and you will not need to invest in power tools to maintain them. This course is designed for a small group and will offer lots of hands-on attention from the instructor.
Fine Woodworking – Wood Finishing
One of the most difficult tasks in fine woodworking is finishing your project. Brian Bartel will show you a variety of ways to get the most beauty of your wood without going to a lot of expense and using lots of chemicals. He will start with the basics of preparing the wood (scraping vs. sanding) and move to simple stains, waxes and other techniques of the master crafters.
Walnut Commission
Back in the Spring I custom sawed 4700 board feet of Walnut into two, three and four inch thicknesses for a client to begin building various pieces of furniture. This began an exploration in the process of harvesting furniture grade lumber. Bookmatching and disection of figured wood was just the beginning, properly kiln dring the lumber was quite a task. I have recently received the first 1000 board feet out of the kiln and have begun the first piece, which is a dinning room table, 9 feet long and 43 inches wide with a 3″ thick top. Live edge, bookmatched with a 27″ crotch mirrored on one end. Pictures of the process soon to follow.
